چکیده
the karyotype of zagros tooth-carp, aphanius vladykovi (coad) has been investigated byexamining metaphase chromosomes spreads obtained from gill epithelial and kidney cells. the diploidchromosome number of this species was 2n=48. the karyotype consisted of 8 submetacentric and 40subtelocentric chromosomes (8sm+40 st). the arm number (nf) was 28. sex chromosomes werecytologically indistinguishable in this tooth-carp.

Aphanius arakensis, a new species of tooth-carp (Actinopterygii, Cyprinodontidae) from the endorheic Namak Lake basin in Iran
A new species of tooth-carp, Aphanius arakensissp. n., is described from the Namak Lake basin in Iran. The new species is distinguished by the congeners distributed in Iran by the following combination of characters: 10-12 anal fin rays, 28-32 lateral line scales, 10-13 caudal peduncle scales, 8-10 gill rakers, 12-19, commonly 15-16, clearly defined flank bars in males, a more prominent pigment...

Variation among complete cytb sequences (1140 bp) of Aphanius mesopotamicus Coad, 2009 was compared with closely related species, to investigate the validity of this taxon as a newly-described tooth-carp based on morphological characteristics. Maximum likelihood and Bayesian likelihood trees supported the monophyly of A. mesopotamicus and its sister group relationship to A. sophiae. Some 10-16 ...

This study provides new data on chromosomal characteristics and DNA barcoding of three endemic loaches of Iran: spiny southern loach Cobitis linea (Heckel, 1847), Persian stream loach Oxynoemacheilus persa (Heckel, 1848) and Tongiorgi stream loach Oxynoemacheilus tongiorgii (Nalbant & Bianco, 1998). The chromosomes of these fishes were investigated by examining metaphase chromosome spreads obta...
متن کاملScale surface microstructure and scale size in the tooth-carp genus Aphanius (Teleostei, Cyprinodontidae) from endorheic basins in Southwest Iran.
A substantial number of species within the tooth-carp Aphanius Nardo, 1827 (Cyprinodontidae, Teleostei) has been recorded from the endorheic drainage systems of Iran, and several isolated populations in these systems may deserve species status. Descriptions of these species and populations have been based mainly on morphological and molecular data; however, the characters related to the fish sc...

Aphaniusisfahanensis is a new endemic killifish species that has been described in the Zayandeh River of the Isfahan basin in Iran. During a study on the biology of nine fish from this species, the parasite Diplostomumspathaceum was observed in the aqueous humor of the eye of a single individual. It was visible as a white mass with a diameter of 0.38 mm. This is the first report on the infectio...
